Quite fittingly, the recently released MD3 wedges from Callaway are notable for the three unique sole grinds they offer as well as three types of grooves.
With regard to the grooves, there is the W-Grind, which boasts a slightly wider sole and is designed for play in softer conditions – and for players who tend to come into the ball on a steep angle.
As for the S-Grinds, they
are described by Callaway engineers as the most versatile option, intended for use in normal, soft or firm course conditions and for moderate to sweeping attack angles.
Then there is the C-Grind, which is for firmer conditions
and the ability to hit a variety of shots around the green, thanks largely to the heel and toe relief in this version.
