Jason Day continued his torrid stretch of play by dominating at rain-softened Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill., winning the BMW Championship by six strokes ahead of Daniel Berger. Day finished at 22-under-par 262.
Who didn’t win
Berger won the “other” tournament at Conway Farms, finishing second, earning himself a spot in the Tour Championship in the process. Berger was briefly within four strokes of Day but never seriously challenged. It’s the second runner-up finish of the season for Berger, who lost a playoff at the Honda Classic earlier this year.
How it happened
It didn’t technically start and end on Thursday when Day shot 61 (he actually finished his first round early Friday due to a weather delay), but it felt that way given the run the world’s new No. 1 has been on this summer.
