Who won

Emiliano Grillo made a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the Tour Championship, beating Chez Reavie by one stroke. Grillo shot a final-round 1-under 69 for a 72-hole total of 14-under-par 266 at the par-70 Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Grillo, a 23-year-old Argentinian, played in 15 different countries in 2015 and had top-10 finishes on four continents.

Who didn’t win

Reavie finished runner-up, narrowly missing a birdie putt on the 72nd hole
that would have forced a
playoff with Grillo. Reavie won the Small Business Connection Championship two weeks earlier that put him in the position to win the Tour Finals money list. Reavie shot 68 in the final round to finish at 13 under. Sam Saunders was one further back after a 67 on Sunday. Rhein Gibson, who shot 63 in the first round, was fourth at 11 under.

What this means

Patton Kizzire and Reavie also won without winning. Kizzire finished first on the combined Tour and Tour Finals money list. Reavie was first on the Finals money list. Both will be fully exempt on the PGA Tour for the 2015-16 season and will have spots in the 2016 Players Championship.
