Who won

Emiliano Grillo, a 23-year-old Argentinian playing his first event as a PGA Tour member, beat Kevin Na on the second extra hole to win the Open at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif. Both finished regulation at 15-under-par 273, and after matching pars on the first extra hole Grillo won with a birdie on the second playoff hole.

Who didn’t win

Na birdied the 72nd hole to force a playoff with Grillo but a poor second shot on the second extra hole proved costly. Jason Bohn, Justin Thomas and Tyrone Van Aswegen finished tied for third, one stroke out of the playoff.

How it happened

For three days, Brendan Steele dominated but on Sunday everything changed. Steele opened with 63 on Thursday and took a one-stroke lead into the final round but a balky putter took him out of contention. As the final round unfolded under sunny skies, it had a free-for-all feel on the back nine. Players moved up and back and at one point five players shared the lead, all of whom were either finished or had no more than two holes to play.
