Sullying the Solitary Walk

Walking alone

You mean to tell me that the USGA trusts me when I’m looking for my ball in the rough by myself but it doesn’t think enough of my integrity or moral code to believe me when I post a score after playing alone?

Can you actually believe I said that?

It’s true. Just before Thanksgiving, the USGA released changes to its Handicap System. One of the changes specifies that if you play alone, you no longer are allowed to post that score for handicap purposes.

It reads:

“Playing alone and necessary peer review: To further support the key System premise of peer review, scores made while playing alone will no longer be acceptable for handicap purposes.
