Bobby Jones certainly knew a lot about the golf swing. But he also was an astute appreciator of how important the mental game was.
One of his most famous quotes was: “Championship golf is played mainly between the ears.” And he also once commented: “You swing your best when you have the fewest things to think about.”
Those words are as applicable today as they were nearly a century ago, when Jones was beginning his otherworldly golf career, and the search for being able to successfully train – and quiet – one’s mind on the golf course continues.
Solutions sometimes are found in self-help books and sessions with sports psychologists. Another option is a new brain training device called the FocusBand.
FocusBand features three sensors on a Bioprene headband that measure brain activity.
