Lexi Thompson won her seventh LPGA Tour title at the Honda LPGA Thailand, a six-shot victory over In Gee Chun. Thompson shot two rounds of 64 and a final-round 4-under 68 in her 20-under total of 268 over 72 holes at the Pattaya Old Course at Siam Country Club in Chonburi, Thailand.
WHO DIDN’T WIN:
Chun didn’t really threaten Thompson in the final round, shooting a 2-under 70 and a four-round total of 14-under 274 to take second on her own. Jessica Korda leaped up the leaderboard on Sunday with an 8-under 64 and was third at 13 under, tied there with Amy Yang. Haru Nomura, a winner in Australia two Sundays ago, tied for fifth at 11 under with Chella Choi and Hee Young Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Thompson took the first-round lead with an 8-under 64 but surrendered that lead to Yang after a second-round 72.
