Triple Bogey Costs Aussie a 58

Tim Hart

Tim Hart lost a bid to shoot 58 at the PGA Tour of Australasia’s Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship in Toowoomba, Australia, on Sunday, and his last-hole collapse ultimately cost him the tournament.

Hart, a 26-year-old Australian, was 12-under par for his final round standing on the 18th tee at par-70 City Golf Club but drove out of bounds and made a triple bogey on the closing par-4. His final-round 61 dropped him into a playoff with German-born Kiwi David Klein (closing 65), who won the event with a birdie on the first extra hole after both players posted 15-under 265 totals. “It’s easy to be disappointed but if someone had said I’d be in a playoff for the title when starting the day 20th I would have grabbed it,” Hart said.
