Who Won:

World No.1 Lydia Ko put on a clinic at Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, Calif., posting four rounds in the 60s and finishing with three consecutive birdies for a 19 under total and a four-shot victory at the Kia Classic. She also went 58 holes without a bogey and captured her 11th LPGA victory a month before her 19th birthday.

Who Didn’t Win:

Despite a final-round of 67 that included six birdies, Inbee Park was unable to catch Ko, who started the final round with a three-shot cushion. Park’s ballstriking was excellent all week, but her normally reliable putter let her down on the weekend. Her bogey-free 70 on Saturday could have been much lower and when she had a relatively straightforward putt at the ninth on Sunday for her third birdie in a row, her fourth in five holes, she didn’t’ come close. One hole later, on the reachable par-5 10th, Park hit a lackluster hybrid and failed to get up and down. A curling birdie putt on the par-3 13th found the hole to cut Ko’s lead to two, and birdies by Park at 16 and 17 kept it interesting, but this one was never really in question.
