Soomin Lee won the European Tour’s Shenzhen International after inclement weather throughout the week pushed the tournament to a Monday morning finish in Shenzhen, China. The 22-year-old Korean eagled the par-5 17th hole at Genzon Golf Club en route to a closing 71. He finished at 16-under 272, two strokes ahead of Dutchman Joost Luiten (closing 68) and South African Brandon Stone (68).
Who Didn’t Win:
Luiten, who had the clubhouse lead before Lee’s late heroics, posted his second consecutive runner-up finish and sixth top-10 finish in nine starts this season. Stone notched his best finish since winning the BMW South African Open in January. Australia’s Scott Hend (closing 66), England’s Lee Slattery (71) and France’s Alexander Levy (71) shared fourth place at 13 under.
