Ad Materials Submission Instructions

Lawrence Hollyfield (lawrence@globalgolfpost.com) is your contact. You can send ad materials by e-mail if the file size is small enough (typically under 6 MB). If the files are too large, they can be transferred by Skype (Lphollyfield), download (yousendit or other) or FTP transfer. Write to request Global Golf Post's FTP credentials. If you have an FTP site, you can post materials on it and send your credentials in and we will download from your site.

Video Specifications

Basics

Video in Global Golf Post is an overlay that we assemble.

Send us two pdfs of your ad, one with a box that shows where you would like the video placed, and another pdf without the placement box (that is the file we'll use in the final version). Frames or boxes around video are not recommended as they might shift a little depending on the browser, and a frame would make that shift obvious.

Also send a video file, with download (yousendit or other) and ftp transfer the most likely because of the file size. File sizes typically have been around 20MB, though they have been as low as 5MB for a quality file and as large as 70MB. Suggested run time: 15 seconds to 2 minutes.

Once your ad is ready, we'll send you a link so you can proof it.

Timing

The materials are due by the end of day Wednesday, five days ahead of the scheduled issue, so we have time to assemble and then get a proof out and allow for possible adjustments.

Video specs

The most common video formats that we receive are .mov and .mpeg. The file sizes should be large for clear playback in the issue. The simplest way to check the quality of your file is to run it full screen on your monitor. If it's not pixelated then, it will not be pixelated in the issue. We also can embed videos from YouTube.

Playback

Videos typically launch when the reader gets to the page, but we like to run them in a box with controls so interested readers can replay them.

Links

The pages underneath the video typically are hyperlinked and can have as many links as are needed.
