At age 17, Byeong-Hun An entered the 109th U.S. Amateur last year with the hopes of making it to match play. He ended up walking away with the trophy and broke the record set by Danny Lee as the youngest player to do so. The win earned him a berth in this year’s Masters and U.S. Open, where he missed the cut in both. Next up for An is a trip to the Old Course at St. Andrews for the British Open next month before coming back to the U.S. to start his first year at the University of California-Berkeley and defense of his Amateur title in August at Chambers Bay in the state of Washington.
