Ron Green Jr.: It appears, if news reports can be believed, that a sizable portion of our country is in the grips of old man winter. There’s snow, there’s ice, there’s scene after scene of folks wrapped under coats and scarves, their breath blowing frozen smoke in the air.
And it’s raining here at Torrey Pines near San Diego.
Light, spotty rain, to be sure, but still the wet kind.
It’s expected to be gray and occasionally damp through the Farmers Insurance Open, not serious enough to threaten play but overcast enough to ruin the television shots of the sun twinkling off the Pacific Ocean.
Temperatures are expected to stay near 60 degrees, a relative heat wave compared to other parts of the country.
A local commented that if the weather stays like this for a couple of days, some residents will threaten to move.
Do I sense a theme developing?
