Davis Love III will undergo neck surgery Friday that will sideline him for at least six weeks but hopefully will allow him to play golf pain-free when he completes his rehabilitation.
Love said he decided after being forced to withdraw from the Phoenix Open last week that he needed to get the nagging injury repaired.
“I got to the point where it was affecting me on and off the course,” Love said today. “I don’t want to have to play around it. I want to play well so I’m going to get it fixed.”
Love said his doctor has told him he could be putting in four to five days, chipping in 10 days and perhaps playing again in as soon as six weeks.
“I’m excited to get it done,” Love said.
