Rory McIlroy feels good again – about everything.
His new equipment, the state of his game, even his comfort level at Augusta National, where he’ll play in his fifth Masters this week.
“It probably took me a while to get fully comfortable on the grounds,” McIlroy said. “Took me a while to get comfortable taking a divot.”
For all the angst about McIlroy’s change to Nike equipment this year and his sluggish start in 2013, everything has fallen back into place, he said.
Even the memories of his 2011 back-nine collapse and his 77-76 on the weekend last year are buried beneath good vibes, Rory suggested.
“All the demons are gone,” he said. “I have no ill memories of the place at all.”
And, if you’re wondering, Rory’s girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki will caddie for him in the par-3 tournament Wednesday.
Ah, young love.
