Tiger Woods has decided to skip the Wells Fargo Championship next week in Charlotte, N.C., bypassing an event that’s usually on his limited schedule.
Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, said his client will pass on playing at Quail Hollow Club because he prefers three weeks off after the Masters. This year there are only two tournaments – the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans – between the Augusta and Charlotte stops.
Woods won the 2007 Wells Fargo Championship but he has missed the cut each of the past two years at Quail Hollow. He is expected to return for the Players Championship.
