The Sunny Side Of Scotland

I never thought I’d need to pack shorts for a trip to Scotland but I sure wish I had. When I was packing for this trip, I looked at the weather forecast and I thought, “Well, it’s Scotland. The weather can turn on a dime. I’ve witnessed all four seasons in one day.”

Quite the opposite. The weather is glorious here and more of the same is forecast for the next several days.

I played Western Gailes yesterday and it’s one of the hidden gems of Scotland. Narrow fairways and high rough make it a stern test for anyone. At the same time, it’s fun and doesn’t leave you feeling beaten up after you’re done. I played Turnberry today and hadn’t played it for perhaps 15 years. I had forgotten how good it really is.

As I type this, I have a cricket test match on Sky Sports. No one has ever been successful in explaining this sport to me. Not even a silly mid-off. Cheers.
