Designed for highly skilled players, the Titleist MB and CB irons have been a favorite of elite professional and amateur players since the clubs were introduced in 2009. Which has created a bit of a problem for the equipment maker’s research-and-development people. “When we ask our tour players what we can do to improve the CB or MB models, their reaction is always the same: ‘Don’t do anything,’ ” said Steve Pelisek, general manager of Titleist golf clubs. But the folks at Titleist felt they could make these popular blades better. “It was a welcome challenge for our R&D team,” explains Pelisek. And the results, he says, are updated versions of the MB and CB models that are designed to provide better feel and enable players to work the ball with greater ease. “They also look better at address and perform even better through the turf,” he adds.
