Lydia Ko wasn’t the only teen celeb to arrive in New Zealand earlier this week. Shortly after the 16-year-old golf phenom touched down in her homeland following a top-10 finish at the LPGA’s season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, the singing sensation Lorde arrived at Auckland Airport.
“I have never met her and I wanted to go ask for her autograph, but she was surrounded by people and had just been on a long flight home as well,” Ko told assembled media ahead of this weekend’s ISPS Handa NZ Women’s Open.
Ko defends her title in the Ladies’ European Tour season opener starting Friday. Meanwhile, her 17-year-old crooning countrywoman came home with two Grammy Awards.
