The USGA will conduct 36-hole sectional qualifying for the 2014 U.S. Open at 10 U.S. sites and two overseas venues, the association announced today.
The international qualifiers are slated for Monday, May 26, while the U.S. qualifiers are scheduled for Monday, June 2. The U.S. Open is June 12-15 at Pinehurst No. 2.
To be eligible for qualifying, a player must have a handicap index not exceeding 1.4, or be a professional. Local qualifying, which will be played over 18 holes at 111 U.S. sites, takes place May 2-19.
