Norway’s Suzann Pettersen, the No. 2 player on the Rolex Rankings heading into this weekend’s Kraft Nabisco Championship, said today she’ll miss the first major event on the LPGA Tour schedule.
Pettersen has withdrawn because of an aggravated disc in her back.
“It’s so unfortunate that I can’t compete this week,” Pettersen said. “I dearly love this event and would do anything to play.
“At this point, I just need to be smart and not make a bad situation worse.”
Play begins Thursday for the Kraft Nabisco at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho, Mirage, Calif. World No. 1 Inbee Park is the defending champion.
