True Temper Shafts Get A Boost

This month marks the rollout of two new graphite-shaft offerings from True Temper, both of which are designed to be used in drivers – and to help make tee shots longer and more accurate.
The first is the Boost shaft from Grafalloy, and its primary performance attribute comes from a skinny profile that, according to company technicians, reduces shaft diameter by 15 percent, and by extension reduces drag by some 15 percent, for increased distance.
They add that their proprietary VLT technology also enables players to hit their shots higher and achieve “extreme peak trajectory,” while their Micro-Mesh Tip technology helps to maintain stability and promote optimum accuracy. Even with the higher torque values that are inherent in thin-diameter shafts.
