Suddenly, Tiger Woods is back.
He will test his surgically repaired back next week in the Quicken Loans National at Congressional, the tournament hosted by his Tiger Woods Foundation, putting a sudden end to the uncertainty about when he will return.
Woods made the announcement this afternoon on his Facebook page.
“After a lot of therapy I have recovered well and will be supporting my foundation next week at the Quicken Loans National,” Woods posted. “I’ve just started to hit full shots but it’s time to take the next step. I will be a bit rusty but I want to play myself back into competitive shape. Excited for the challenge ahead.”
It will be the first event Woods has played since the WGC-Cadillac Championship in March. He underwent a microdiscetomy on March 31 and resumed light chipping and putting in mid-April, gradually increasing to full swings recently.
