Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson Throw Out First Pitches

It all started with Jordan Spieth announcing he was throwing out the first pitch at the Texas Rangers-Seattle Mariners game on Tuesday night. But after Zach Johnson announced he was also throwing out a first pitch — his coming at the Chicago Cubs game later that night — trash talking ensued.

This all led to a $5,000 bet for charity. Spieth was up first and delivered a solid strike.

And Zach Johnson responded with what the Cubs are reporting to be a 95 MPH fastball. We’re not quite sold on that one, but you can judge for yourself by watching it here.

Spieth was voted the winner with $5,000 going toward his foundation. Transamerica, a sponsor of Johnson, also matched his donation.
