In the world of golf, being tall hasn’t necessarily translated to success. Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson were all 5-foot-10 or shorter. The best in today’s golfing elite — Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy and others — are not particularly tall either.
But who is the tallest player to ever win a PGA Tour event? That distinction goes to Phil Blackmar, a 6-foot-7, a three-time winner on the Tour. For the record the tallest major winner is George Archer. The 1969 Masters Champ stood 6-foot-5 at the time.
