Earlier this week, Nike unveiled a set of men’s golf tights. That’s right, golf tights.
Before guffawing too loudly over these form-fitting Hyperwarm leggings, consider their potential performance benefits, as touted by Nike’s PGA Tour endorsers.
“I’ve already practiced in them, and I feel amazing, not only during, but after (play),” Tony Finau told Golf.com. “There’s just something about having (that compression) on a part of your body that you’re using that helps you recover and gives you energy.”
Added Brooks Koepka, who says he wears the tights beneath trousers: “After walking 18 holes in a tournament, your legs don’t feel sore. I’m all for it.”
In a promotional photo circulated in conjunction with the product’s introduction, Tour pro Scott Pinckney is sporting a set of black tights beneath a pair of knee-length golf shorts.
Call it an untraditional look if you will. But if you ask me, these could be the new knickers.
