Tiger Woods posted to his website Wednesday with an update on progress in his effort to return from a third back surgery, saying he has been chipping and putting as well as hitting 9-irons.
Woods, however, stopped short of saying when he might play tournament golf again.
“The big thing right now is trying to get stronger and more flexible. Sitting out as long as I did, some weakening occurred, and I have a lot of work ahead of me,” the item read. “While there is no timetable on my return to competitive golf, I want to play this game at the highest level again. In order to do that, I have to get healthy.”
Woods made a trip to Houston on Wednesday for a members event at Bluejack National, the course he is designing. Nine holes have opened with the second nine scheduled to be open for play in April.
