It wasn’t in a tournament, but Rickie Fowler may have hit the shot of the year on Monday at Old Palm Club.
Ernie Els held a pro-am for the Els for Autism foundation and participating players had a chance to win $1 million for the charity if they aced the 19th hole. Rickie Fowler, using Luke Donald’s pitching wedge while wearing sneakers, jarred one from 113 yards out. Pandemonium ensued.
The frenzy continued well after the shot was holed. On Instagram, Fowler called it one of the best days of his life; it’s not hard to see why.
Not only did Donald give Fowler the club, he also took the video and had some kind words following the ace.
