In this week’s Official World Golf Ranking:

Jason Day (AUS) holds the No. 1 ranking for a fifth consecutive week, after ending the 20-week reign of Jordan Spieth (US) back in March.

Including two previous brief stints at the top last autumn, Day now has been No. 1 for a total of nine weeks. That matches the number of weeks Ernie Els spent in the top spot across three separate visits in 1997 and 1998. It is the 15th-highest total in the history of the ranking, which began in 1986.

The biggest risers of the week: Charley Hoffman‘s victory at the Valero Texas Open pushed him up to No. 34, while 22-year-old Soomin Lee won the European Tour’s Shenzhen International, precipitating his 53-spot rise.
