Will Wilcox made a hole-in-one at the par-3 17th during Friday’s second round of the Players Championship. It’s the first hole-in-one at the 17th since Miguel Angel Jimenez made one during his first round in the 2002 Players at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.
It was the first ace in more than 6,300 tee shots at the 17th and the seventh overall during the Players Championship.
He first celebrated with his caddie and two playing partners – Cameron Tringale and Daniel Summerhays – on the tee and then high-fived the gallery all the way around to the green.
Wilcox, 29 and a native of Birmingham, Ala., is still currently playing his second round where is 1 under through 10 holes and 5 under for the tournament.
