It’s not enough that the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro features an on-site Margaritaville hospitality tent for spectators.
On Monday, Jimmy Buffett himself stopped by to get a taste of Margaritaville Greensboro style.
Buffett has a working relationship with the tournament’s title sponsor – that’s why there are Margaritaville Vacation Clubs by Wyndham. There are also 24 permanent Margaritavilles worldwide, a testament to Buffett’s enduring popularity and lifestyle.
Buffett is no stranger to golf, playing the game himself:
According to the Greensboro News & Record, Buffett was in town for about two hours, just enough time to visit with some tournament officials in the Sedgefield Country Club clubhouse then amble over to Margaritaville where he borrowed a guitar and sang – you guessed it – ‘Margaritaville.’
Buffett left but Margaritaville and the temporary beach club Wyndham sets up near the 15th and 16th holes remain for tournament week.
