Callaway Golf announced that it is acquiring Toulon Design, a company that produces uniquely milled putters.
The company’s co-founder Sean Toulon has been in the golf industry for more than 30 years, including his recent role as Executive Vice President of TaylorMade. Toulon will now take on the duties of Senior Vice President of Callaway Golf and General Manager of Odyssey.
“Sean is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable leaders in the golf equipment industry, and we are excited to have him come aboard to help us continue to lead the putter category with great designs and the highest performing innovations,” said Chip Brewer, President and Chief Executive Officer at Callaway Golf Company. “With today’s announcement we fortify our position as the number one equipment company in golf and add valuable experience to our leadership team.”
Toulon’s 16-year stint at TaylorMade was highlighted by the introduction of the Rossa and Spider putter lines. His putters at Toulon Design, which are named after cities of importance to him and the game of golf, use a Deep Diamond Mill face pattern derived from solid blocks of 303 stainless steel.
