Did we miss something? Because it looks like the Ryder Cup has already started.
During Thursday’s practice round at Hazeltine, Rory McIlroy and Andy Sullivan were given some grief from a heckler after missing a putt. Instead of ignoring him, the European players invited the fan out onto the green for a chance to make the putt for himself.
Justin Rose placed a ball and $100 on the green in the spot where McIlroy and Sullivan had putted. The rest is magical.
The heckler, named David Johnson, told reporters afterwards, “I closed my eyes, swallowed my puke, and hit the putt. It happened to go in.”
