Wake Forest alum Arnold Palmer passed away on Sept. 25, but he is still being honored at his alma mater and will be for the rest of the year.
All Demon Deacon athlete fields will have the Palmer umbrella on or located near the field for the rest of the school year. Plus all jerseys will have the Palmer umbrella on it, while the football team will have it on their helmets. They will also carry a flag bearing the logo when it takes the field for all remaining football games.
Another salute to Palmer last night happened when the Deacon rode in on the motorcycle with no one on the back. It’s a tradition that takes place before every home football game.

Honoring Arnold Palmer before Wake Forest takes the field. Nobody will ride with the Deacon on the motorcycle tonight. Rest in peace Arnie. pic.twitter.com/HvGDWtMUwR
