OWGR Snapshot: Snedeker is on a Roll

OWGR - Brandt Snedeker

In this week’s Official World Golf Ranking:

As the PGA Tour tees off for the 2016-17 season this week – with Tiger Woods (US) still in the clubhouse – it does so with Brandt Snedeker (US) back in the Top 20 for the first time since June.

After collecting 3 points for the United States at the Ryder Cup two weekends ago, the 35-year-old Snedeker followed up by winning the Fiji International, co-sanctioned by the European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.

Snedeker’s second victory of the 2015-16 helped him move from No. 23 to No. 20. He has been found in various spots in the Top 50 for much of the time since reaching his career high of No. 4 in the world, in March 2013.

Tyrrell Hatton (ENG) also benefited from a victory last week, climbing to a career-high No. 33 (from No. 53) after winning the Dunhill Links Championship for his first European Tour trophy.

For Jason Day (AUS), another week atop the ranking gave him a streak of 29 weeks. Day, who also spent time at No. 1 last fall, has compiled 33 weeks in the top spot, now alone as the ninth-highest total in the history of the ranking that began in 1986.
