It’s been a long wait to witness the Cubs capture a World Series title.
The last time Chicago won, Old Tom Morris had just been put to rest, Walter Hagen was 15 years old, Harry Vardon wasn’t done winning Open Championships and Ben Hogan wasn’t even born. Twitter didn’t exist in 1908, but we would like to think that they had plenty to say on the matter.
After last night’s incredible 8-7 victory in extra innings, the golf world of 2016 offered some real time reactions:

You might expect this reaction from a Northwestern man:
Why I love sports, exhilarating, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, raw emotion – it never fails. Hell yeah Cubbies #WorldSeriesChamps

Angela Stanford missed her practice round tee time in Japan so she could watch the Cubs battle the Indians down to the wire.

Sophie Gustafson is ditching a sponsor’s hat for the only one that matters at the moment.
Many Cubs fans haven’t had time for golf recently, but that will change. As for getting actual Cubs to round out your foursome…

It’s been a long wait for Chicago…

And, of course, golf enthusiast Bill Murray was on hand to have a little fun with Ben Zobrist’s new car. Zobrist had a crucial hit in the top of 10th to help guide the Cubs to victory.

First the Red Sox and now the Cubs? Those curse-breaking teams share a common trait with Theo Epstein constructing both of them.
Is Theo Epstein a Hall of Famer? Red Sox and Cubs.
