Thomas Bjorn was on the winning side of three Ryder Cups as a player. Now he will get the chance to do the same thing as a captain.
According to Golf Channel’s Tim Rosaforte, Bjorn will be named the leader of the European side tomorrow. The 45-year-old Dane played on winning Ryder Cup teams in 1997, 2002 and 2014 in addition to being an assistant captain for three wins and one loss. The only time he has been a part of a losing effort was this year at Hazeltine.
The 15-time European Tour winner compiled a 3-4-2 record as a Ryder Cup player and is a natural fit with the 2018 event being held in France at Le Golf National.
