QUICK TAKE: Top Moments of Demo Day 2017

It’s a January tradition unlike any other.

The 64th PGA Merchandise Show kicked off under a cloudless blue sky on Tuesday with the annual Outdoor Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Fla. Nearly 100 top golf companies from across the globe converged on the 42-acre facility that features a unique circular driving range where more than 200 hitting bays make their home.

The excitement throughout the windswept day proved palpable. Among the headliners was Bubba Watson, who entertained a throng of fans with a clinic at the Ping booth. You can watch the entire clinic here

Of particular interest and banter were the newly released Cobra F7 One Length Irons inspired by PGA Tour up-and-comer Bryson DeChambeau. He put his gear on display as he battled Tommy Morrisey, a 5-year-old prodigy with one arm. After Morrisey hit a flawless, one-handed flop shot, he challenged DeChambeau to do the same. That didn’t work out too well, and the crowd had a good laugh.

Morrisey wasn’t done. He finished with an impression of Arnold Palmer’s swing that caused a roar and enthusiastic clapping.

Here is the swing of the young star:

There were plenty of other guest appearances made, including Russell Knox at the Srixon/Cleveland booth, Annika Sorenstam providing a clinic and Jesper Parnevik making an appearance.

The PGA Show will continue on Wednesday at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., where more than 1,000 golf companies and brands will occupy about 10 miles worth of aisles. More than 40,000 PGA professionals, manufacturing executives, VIP retailers and industry leaders are expected to attend.
