The Tiger Woods withdrawals continued this week when it was first announced that Woods’ scheduled Tuesday press conference at the Genesis Open had been moved to Wednesday, only to have that press conference cancelled altogether due to Woods’ continuing problems with back spasms.
The reason given was that Woods has been advised by doctors to limit his activity while he deals with the issues that surfaced two weeks ago at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, told ESPN.com the move was “precautionary” and Woods is getting regular treatment on his back. Woods is in California, where he has seen doctors about the ongoing issue. His foundation runs the Genesis Classic.
Woods had planned to play this week and next week at the Honda Classic but has withdrawn from both events. There is no specific timetable for his return to golf.
