QUICK TAKE: A Look at The Masters Field

The Masters is here and there are 95 competitors set to tee it up at Augusta National.

There are myriad ways to qualify for the first major of the year, including the lifetime exemption a player earns for winning The Masters. Winning any other major will guarantee you five more trips to Augusta, while winning the Players Championship earns you a three-year exemption.

All other exemptions are on a year-to-year basis. Winning a PGA Tour event, making it all the way to the Tour Championship and residing in the top 50 in the world are a few additional ways players can punch their ticket down Magnolia Lane.

But the true charm of The Masters is about the dreamers. The U.S. Amateur champion (Curtis Luck) and runner-up (Brad Dalke) will be in the field. British Amateur winner Scott Gregory and Latin America Amateur winner Toto Gana will also remember next week for the rest of their lives. And don’t forget about the U.S. Mid-Amateur victor, Stewart Hagestad.
