Talk about bad luck.
Dustin Johnson “hopes” to play in The Masters after falling down stairs at his rental home and hurting his lower back, according to his manager.
Johnson’s agent, David Winkle, made this statement Wednesday afternoon:
“At roughly 3:00 pm today, Dustin took a serious fall on a staircase in his Augusta rental home,” the statement read. “He landed very hard on his lower back and is now resting, although quite uncomfortably. He has been advised to remain immobile and begin a regimen of anti-inflammatory medication and icing, with the hope of being able to play tomorrow.”
Johnson, the No. 1 player in the world, is heading into The Masters as the favorite having won his past three starts – the Genesis Open, WGC-Mexico Championship and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship.
