Stephen Curry finished Friday’s round of the Tour’s Ellie Mae Classic with his second consecutive 4-over 74 at TPC Stonebrae, where he missed the cut by 11 shots.

But before his round Friday the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player received a lot of praise for his performance in Thursday’s first round.

Said Paul Casey: “Very cool. The pressure … He exceeded my expectations. I know he’s a very good golfer, but that’s cool.”

On Friday, Curry struggled on the front nine where he bogeyed Nos. 2, 3, 6 and 8 before stringing together five pars from Nos. 9-13.

It was on No. 14 – a 326-yard par-4 – where Curry made his first birdie of the day.

He gave his birdie back on No. 16 when he bogeyed the 176-yard par 3, but bounced back on No. 17 for his second birdie of the round. He finished with a bogey on 18 for an even-par back nine.

Curry ended the Ellie Mae Classic with an 8-over 148 total.

A small takeaway for Curry? He tied for 148th and beat or tied four professional golfers and an amateur.

Incredible stuff from the 2.2 handicapper in his Tour debut.
