WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA – The 65th PGA Merchandise Show began Tuesday with the annual Outdoor Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center. Early-morning rain gave way to warm and muggy conditions as thousands flocked to the 42-acre facility where nearly 100 golf companies offered a unique look at their products. More than 200 hitting bays circle a mammoth driving range that even a Bubba Watson tee shot can’t reach across.
The hottest equipment in the game was in high demand and so was bottled water — by lunchtime, crew members said they had already distributed three times as much water as during the entire Demo Day a year ago.
