Dustin Johnson holed out from 112 yards for eagle on the par-4 ninth at Club de Golf Chapultepec to leap into contention at the WGC-Mexico Championship Friday. Johnson hit it just over the flagstick before spinning it back and finding the bottom of the hole.

Johnson is the defending champion in Mexico City after a final-round duel with Jon Rahm in 2017. He won three other times last season.
The world No. 1 opened this WGC event with a 69 in the first round on Thursday.
