Showing confidence in his health, Tiger Woods announced that he will play in The National to be held June 28-July 1 at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Md.
Woods last competed in the event in 2015.
“I am really looking forward to being back in the D.C. area this summer playing in The National,” Woods said in a statement. “As a two-time champion of this event benefiting my foundation, The National has always been a special event for me.”

It’s been a remarkable return to competitive golf for Woods after having spinal fusion surgery last year. He has put together three consecutive top-15 finishes and heads into the Masters as one of the betting favorites.
The National is returning to TPC Potomac for the second time in tournament history. The tournament was there last year when Kyle Stanley defeated Charles Howell III in a playoff.
