Following the untimely passing of former PGA Tour player Jarrod Lyle on Wednesday, many Tour players shared heartfelt condolences on social media.
Lyle, 36, battled acute myeloid leukemia on three occasions, twice returning from sickness to play on Tour. He is survived by his wife, Briony, and daughters Lusi, 6, and Jemma, 2.
The friends Lyle made in the golf community made their feelings known in the hours after his death was announced. Some have donated money to Lyle’s family: Bryson DeChambeau donated $25,000 after winning Wednesday’s long drive contest at the PGA Championship, and Tiger Woods, among others, added a $10,000 pledge to the family.
