Continuing a recent trend of golf companies producing original content that aligns with a broader mission, FootJoy has partnered with podcast and content company Claima to create a three-part docuseries that tells the story of three minorities who have broken down racial barriers to make a substantial impact on the game.
The series, called “Step Forward,” revolves around professional golfer Kamaiu Johnson, long drive contestant Alexis Belton and Group Golf Therapy founder Drew Westphal. Directed by Black filmmaker Adewale Agboola, each video is about two minutes in length and has each subject describing their path into the game in addition to the legacy they hope to leave behind.
FootJoy, which turns 100 years old this year, said that the series “furthers its commitment to helping the game ‘step forward’ over the next century.”
