Like many young men and women in the golf industry, Scott Geary started as an intern at the American Junior Golf Association.

Geary, the CEO of the Georgia PGA Section, began his internship in 2011 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He was hired full time as a tournament coordinator in 2012 and was subsequently promoted into the roles of Southeast regional manager and Northeast and West regional director. In each of these capacities, he was responsible for tournament business affairs. In 2018, Geary was promoted to director of business development, a position in which he served until early 2021, when he was hired to lead the Georgia PGA Section.
