HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA | On Tuesday afternoon, less than 48 hours after being wrapped in a green jacket as the new Masters champion, Jon Rahm wandered onto the putting green behind the clubhouse at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
A group of youngsters leaning on a metal railing squealed his name, asking for autographs. On the practice green, crowded with players, caddies and various members of their entourages, Rahm found a spot to drop a couple of golf balls and start rolling putts.
Eventually, one player then another and then another came by to offer their congratulations. Caddies shook his hand and patted him on his shoulder.
