The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is being played this week at Gil Hanse’s recently restored Lower Course at Baltusrol Country Club. There is a lot that is unusual about this women’s major championship, highlighted by the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit that takes place the Wednesday prior to the championship. This invitation-only event serves as a catalyst to empower women on and off the golf course.
Another unique aspect of the championship is the gender of the championship director. Jacquelyn Endsley, better known as Jackie, is the only woman to serve as the top executive for a professional major golf championship in both the men’s and women’s game — and she is one of just six PGA of America championship directors.
